If back pain is limiting your ability to sit, stand, walk, or sleep comfortably — we understand how disruptive it can be. At Origin Rehab, we help patients move past recurring or stubborn back pain with personalized physical therapy that targets the root cause, not just the symptoms.
What is Back Pain?
Back pain refers to discomfort along the spine, most commonly in the lower (lumbar) region, though it may also affect the mid- or upper back. Pain can be acute, chronic, or episodic — and may feel dull, sharp, stiff, or radiating.
It’s one of the most frequent reasons people seek medical care and is often linked to muscle strain, disc problems, poor movement habits, or degenerative changes.
What Causes Back Pain?
Back pain is often caused by prolonged sitting, poor posture, improper lifting, or repetitive movements. Herniated discs, spinal stenosis, arthritis, and muscle imbalances can also contribute. Sometimes the exact cause is not clear — which is why a skilled assessment matters.
Other times, back pain is the result of older injuries, surgical history, or coexisting conditions like sciatica.
